Aphronizer A

Aphronizer A is a co-associating surfactant package for enhancing the shells structure of aphrons used in APHRON ICS™ waterbase fluid technologies. When used in conjunction with Aphronizer B and Plastisizer the resultant aphrons show significant resistance to compression as well as improved sealing performance when compared to our first generation aphrons built with Blue Streak alone.

Typical Physical properties

Form Liquid
Color Yellow
Specific gravity 1.06
pH (in water) 7 - 8
Solubility soluble

Applications

Initial treatment of
APHRON ICS™ waterbase fluid technologies with Aphronizer A is typically with 0.5 pounds per barrel. Once the system has stabilized additional Aphronizer A should be added at a 1.0 : 0.5 pounds per barrel ratio (Blue Streak to Aphronizer A) until a 12 - 14 % by volume aphron concentration is achieved in the circulating system.

Advantages

  • Enhanced APHRON ICS™ waterbase fluid sealing performance
  • No negative effect on the APHRON ICS™ waterbase fluid rheology
  • performance (LSRV)
  • Sealing by the "Jamin effect"
  • "Micro-environment" sealing
  • No or very low solids content fluids
  • Minimally invasive fluids
  • Improved Loss Circulation Control
  • No differential sticking
  • Quality cement bonds
  • Optimized well construction costs
